Description

These Beetlejuice Halloween Jello Shots are a spooky, colorful, and fun non-alcoholic party treat. With vibrant layers of purple, green, and black gelatin, they are sweet, jiggly, and perfect for both kids and adults at any festive celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (3 oz / 85 g) box black cherry Jello (for the dark layer)
  • 1 (3 oz / 85 g) box lime Jello (for the green layer)
  • 1 (3 oz / 85 g) box grape Jello (for the purple layer)
  • 3 cups (720 ml) boiling water, divided
  • 3 cups (720 ml) cold water, divided
  • Whipped topping or whipped cream, for garnish
  • Halloween sprinkles, candy eyes, or gummy worms, for decoration
  • Optional for Layered Effects: Black food coloring (for darker layers), Sweetened condensed milk (for creamy contrast)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cups: Arrange 18–20 mini 2-ounce cups on a tray for easy handling and level setting.
  2. Make the Purple Layer: Dissolve grape Jello in 1 cup boiling water, stir for 2 minutes, then add 1 cup cold water. Pour into cups, filling about one-third. Chill for 45–60 minutes until set.
  3. Add the Green Layer: Dissolve lime Jello in 1 cup boiling water, stir, and add 1 cup cold water. Let cool slightly before pouring over the purple layer. Chill for 45–60 minutes.
  4. Add the Black Layer: Prepare black cherry Jello as directed and add a drop of black food coloring if desired for darker Beetlejuice Jello Shots. Pour over the green layer and refrigerate for 1 hour or until fully set.
  5. Decorate: Top each Jello shot with whipped cream, candy eyes, and Halloween sprinkles just before serving.
  6. Serve: Keep chilled until ready to enjoy your spooky, colorful Halloween treats!

Notes

  • Let each Jello layer fully set before adding the next for clean separation of your Beetlejuice Halloween Jello Shots.
  • Pour slowly to avoid mixing layers together.
  • Use a squeeze bottle or small cup for precise pouring.
  • For a “slime effect,” drizzle green icing or syrup over the top.
  • Make ahead up to 2 days and store covered in the fridge.
