- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 6 – 9 lollipop or popsicle sticks
- Parchment paper (not wax paper)
- Optional toppings: mini chocolate chips, chopped nuts, crushed graham crackers, crushed pretzels, mini M&Ms, sprinkles, shredded coconut, crushed Oreos
Instructions
- Prep apples: Wash, dry, and slice apples into thick wedges. Remove seeds and insert a stick into the bottom of each slice.
- Melt caramel: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine caramels and cream. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
- Dip slices: Dip or spread caramel over one side of each apple slice. Let excess drip off.
- Add toppings: While caramel is still soft, sprinkle desired toppings over the coated side.
- Set: Place slices on parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for 15–20 minutes until caramel firms up.
- Serve: Arrange on a tray or platter and enjoy immediately for best texture and flavor.
