Description
A silky, sweet compound butter with a hint of smoky warmth from bourbon, perfect for spreading on biscuits, pancakes, or melting onto steak.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon bourbon
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Take 1 cup (2 sticks) of unsalted butter out of the fridge and let it come to room temperature.
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the softened butter. Use a hand mixer or a whisk to beat until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Gradually mix in 2 tablespoons of pure maple syrup, 1 tablespoon of bourbon, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Taste and adjust sweetness or bourbon level as needed.
- Transfer the mixture onto a sheet of parchment paper or plastic wrap. Roll it into a log shape, twisting the ends to seal tightly.
- Refrigerate the butter log for at least 2 hours, or until firm. If you’re in a hurry, pop it in the freezer for 30-40 minutes.
- Slice the butter into rounds and serve over pancakes, waffles, toast, or warm biscuits. It’s also amazing on roasted veggies or grilled meats!
