Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound medium to large shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped
- 8 ounces lump crab meat, drained
- 10 ounces frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the squeezed-dry spinach to the skillet and cook until any remaining moisture has evaporated, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Stir in the chopped shrimp, lump crab meat, and the cooked spinach mixture.
- Add half of the mozzarella cheese and half of the Parmesan cheese to the bowl. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Mix everything together until just combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish or an oven-safe skillet.
- In a small bowl, combine the remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the dip.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is hot, bubbly, and the cheese on top is golden brown.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
- For a lighter option, substitute half of the cream cheese with Neufchâtel cheese or plain Greek yogurt.
- If lump crab meat is unavailable, you can use more shrimp or finely chopped cooked white fish.
- Serve hot with your favorite dippers like tortilla chips, crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh vegetable sticks.
- This irresistible shrimp crab spinach dip reheats well. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheat gently in the oven or microwave.
