Description
Create adorable and delicious Mini Pretzel Pumpkins for a fun, kid-friendly Halloween treat. This no-bake recipe uses simple ingredients like pretzels, orange candy melts, and green candy stems to make festive pumpkin shapes. They are perfect for parties, school events, or as a fun activity with children, offering a delightful salty-sweet flavor combination.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup orange candy melts (about 170g)
- 20 mini pretzel twists
- 20 small green candy-coated chocolates (like green M&M’s) or green sprinkles
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil (optional, to thin the candy melt if needed)
Instructions
- Prep your workspace. Line a baking sheet or tray with parchment paper.
- Melt the candy. In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the orange candy melts in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth. Add a small bit of vegetable oil if needed to thin the consistency.
- Dip the pretzels. Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each pretzel into the melted candy until fully coated. Tap the fork on the side of the bowl to remove excess coating.
- Place on tray. Gently place each coated pretzel on the parchment-lined tray. Quickly press a green candy or sprinkle into the top loop of the pretzel to create a pumpkin stem.
- Cool and set. Let the pretzels sit at room temperature until the coating hardens, about 10–15 minutes. You can refrigerate them for faster setting.
Notes
- Make sure pretzels are dry before dipping for best candy adhesion.
- Work in small batches so the candy doesn’t harden before decorating.
- Kids as young as 3 can help add stems, while older kids can dip.
- Store in airtight container at room temp up to 5 days—avoid refrigerating unless necessary.
