- 1 large loaf of French bread (or Italian bread), halved lengthwise
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 teaspoon garlic powder)
- 1 cup marinara or pizza sauce
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 20–25 slices of pepperoni
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (fresh or dried)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise.
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with the minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Place the bread halves cut side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread the garlic butter evenly over each piece.
- Spoon the marinara or pizza sauce over the garlic butter, spreading it to cover the bread.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
- Arrange the pepperoni slices on top of the cheese.
- Drizzle with olive oil if using, and sprinkle with Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread is golden brown and crisp.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before slicing and serving your delicious pepperoni garlic bread.
